MyLoveForMusic: InspirationSounds February 2009

This show was a challenge for me because of pride. I don't know why I think that when I make InspirationSounds podcast I suppose not to show there are times that I am going through "storms" in my life but in all honesty being a Follower of Christ it's okay to show sadness sometimes...it's okay to share when I have made mistakes or if I'm being hurt. It's okay to feel this way at time but I have choice not to let it overcome me because in the end when you are going through tough times I suppose to focus on my "provider" not my problems.

Another thing that has hit me is that when I do make mistakes it's okay to show that I'm human because what is so awesome about God is that he has always used flawed people and will continue to use imperfect people because he knows our fears, our faults, our shortcomings. From Adam and Eve to the Apostle Paul to John, he(God) will continue to use people like you and I because that is where he gets his glory because when a person has messed up they can look to people in the Bible and say, "If He can still love someone like King David, He can love someone like me too." This is where I am getting a revelation because we as Christians should not be afraid or ashamed to show our flaws because when a non-believer can look to people in this century as well to see that we as Christians mess up, we repent, we suffer the consequences for some decisions we make but they(a non-believer) can also see we are still blessed.

Dr. Charles Stanley put it perfect when giving the definition of *Grace and Mercy

Grace: It is God's undeserved, unearned favor, goodness,
kindness, and love towards us. It is also the only
means by which we are saved.

Mercy: is not getting what we
deserve.

Know this about God, He loves you, always has, always will. And it is true, God loves the sinner, not the sin. By me putting this podcast together it gave me a sense of peace and freedom to be able to share my pain, my hurt, my flaws and to let people know we as Christians have flaws, we make wrong choices but we know that our Heavenly God loves us, forgives us, want's the best for our lives.

Enjoy the music and always remember, once you give your life to Christ there no sin that can make stop loving you. Be Blessed

MyLoveForMusic InspirationSounds podcasts

These are podcasts I recorded earlier this year and will begin posting them over here as well, enjoy...

MyLoveForMusic: InspirationSounds - January 2009

This podcast went through a couple of song line up and just me finally recording this was a task within itself. This month has not been the best for me so far but I'm keeping my head up and keeping my eyes on Christ Jesus. I'm learning first hand that they are some situations I have to step out on faith, other situations I have to have patience. I have to keep reminding myself that I have to do what I can and God will do what I can't.

While listening to the playback of the tracks I selected it makes me sit back and reflect forward because I keep focusing on my mistakes I will never move forward in life and what my Lord and Savior has in store for me. This podcast almost did not get recorded until I read this passage from Proverbs 3:27-28...

27 Do not withhold good from those who deserve it

when it’s in your power to help them.

28 If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say,

“Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.”

It reminds me to sow good in someone else life because people are hurting worse than yourself.

December 2008MLFM: InspirationSounds

Hello and Welcome back to another edition of MyLoveForMusic:Inspiration. These are my picks for the month of December and I have to admit these tracks mean so much to me because sometimes God has to remind me who's in charge and for me sometimes having back problems let's me know that I can work as many hours I want, try to achieve my degree if I don't have my health none of those things mean a thing and by me having my back give me trouble these past couple of weeks put that into perspective for me.

This month I truly have so much to be thankful for with having a job in this economy, having a roof over our heads, almost accomplishing something for almost a year and hoping to continue this (my podcast) for years to come. It was times where I wanted to throw in the towel and God put so many wonderful people around via web telling me to "hang in there" and I'm glad I did.

The month of November I introduced a new podcast segment which I will begin to bring you wonderful Gospel, Christian, and Smooth Jazz music because this is something I have wanted to do for a minute because for me I always wondered why can't great instrumental compositions be blended with some of the best Christian artists and I have come to realize that if this has come across my mind I'm sure it has crossed other people minds. Now I'm not trying to mix Gospel with "Club" music because to me I think that would be counter productive because I am not trying to live in both worlds. I know where God has brought me, where I was and if I'm obedient to Him where He will take me. For me when I hear many Gospel and Christian songs I sometimes pay attention to the gifted musicians and say to myself, "that would really be a nice instrumental track." God has gave wonderful gifts to these men and women and for them to bring music to the masses that have you not only relax but to reflect on God awesome blessing is a double, triple blessing in my book.

So, find a place where you can kick, relax, reflect on the goodness of the many blessing in your life.

Enjoy.

Reflections from Monday's Devotional

Devotional from Our Daily Bread: Gossip-Free Zone
Biblical Passage: Proverbs 25: 8-18

I know this is going to sound bias and I'm going to sound like a male chauvinist pig so I'm getting that out of the way right now but I often tell people that the only women I enjoy working around are geek women. With geek women gossip is truly at a minimum. They care about their appearance but I have never heard them tear down another woman, well at least while I'm around. They are not into dumb shows like Desperate Housewives, Girlfriends, Sex & the City, The Starters Wife (while USA Network airs that show I will never know), Tyler Perry movies...yes I said it.

Gossip is something I have heard men and women do from time to time and it's very easy to get caught up in it. Gossip is one of those subtle sins that before you know it you're right in the middle of that mess. You don't think you get caught up in it? Have you ever read PEOPLE, US, Star magazines? Have you ever watch any so called Reality shows?

*my hand goes up slowly

It's amazing so many things that are positive that surrounds us and many times we are drawn to the negative. There is the Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, TLC, National Geographic Channel, heck for me The Weather Channel is productive (they play some of the best smooth jazz when showcasing "The Local on the 8's"). Do you own a mp3 player? So many positive podcast are out here from pastor Greg Laurie, Paul Sheppard, Dr. Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah, Tony Evans, the late Adrian Rogers & Dr. J. Vernon McGee, Michael Yousef, James McDonald...and these are national pastors and I'm sure that there are local pastors in your area that great teachers of God's word. You have some great music podcast (mine included...hint, hint), great tech shows and yet we sometimes get sucked into the gossip abyss.

I love the book of Proverbs. If you ever want sound, no nonsense every day advice this is the book to read a chapter a day. So much is written about gossip because God knows that is where the majority of all problems begin...word of mouth. If we want our children, our grandchildren gossiping or talking ill of people we as adults must lead by example when it comes to what we read, what we watch, what we say. Let's begin to make our home, our speech a "Gossip-Free Zone".

a powerful message from Pastor Greg Laurie

You have heard me menitioned Pastor Greg Laurie from time to time because what I truly enjoy about his messages is how he explains the bible and his humor. This message I heard on my iPod is no exception...A God of Second Chances (part II) is about how our Lord and Savior can forgives us no matter what mess we get into and how He loves you and I no matter what decsions we make.

Now, this is not to say we will do not have pay the consenquences for our actions but to know that God still loves you and I regardless is truly a blessing.

I hope you get a chance to listen to this today and share it with a family member, a non-believer, your children.

Be Blessed, Be Safe and Have a Wonderful Thursday.

He has a very cool website as well.

Devotion & Reflection for Sunday

Religion Or Christ?>>>more
from rbc ministries|odb devotions

A while back I heard Dr. Charles Stanley say it's better to tell people that "I'm a Follower of Jesus Christ" more so than telling people "I am a Christian". I think that's really good because many people claim to be Christians and think just because of their works that will give them a VIP into kingdom of God...that is not the case.

Our Father knows how our ego would swell so big if we were saved just on our works alone. We would not treat people with respect because if God received you and I just for our works, we would treat one another like dirt because all we would have to do is "play" catch up with our works for the Lord and we would skate into Heaven with no worries.

And then the other end of the spectrum, some people would feel like they could never do enough to find favor with God because of guilt, not enough skills. We would look around and feel inadequate because some people may have "the proper tools" so to speak and we would feel less worthy.

Thank God He knows you and I better than we know ourselves. By our Lord giving you and the "gift" of salvation we can not buy our way into the kingdom. Knowing that as long as we are sincere in our repentance to our Father we know we are forgiving and not to worry about "working" our way out of hell. He knows we are born into sin but thank God he has giving you and I the way to be his children and not his enemy.

devotion & reflections for the weekend February 24th-25

The New Religion>>>more
devotional reading from our daily bread

I don't understand rich people...why are they so unhappy? I am not saying money is evil, far from that, like Zig Ziglar always says, "Money ain't everything...but it's the next best thing to oxygen...I mean when you need it you really need it." I'm not saying that money solves all problems because what I have learned for myself, if you not "Christ centered" you really have nothing. In a way I guess I do know the answer but it still makes me wonder, why are rich folks so unhappy?

If they want to just get up and travel to another state or another country they can. If they wish to shop they can and by just about whatever they want whenever they want. Check out the people in Hollywood, what is their problem? It's just amazing how they could do just about whatever they want and still most get divorced, sleep around, in and out of rehab. Whatever they want the can have but they turn to drugs, alcohol, millions of dollars in therapy sessions. I mean, they should be having the times of their lives. The Oscars are coming on this Sunday and the only thing I can think of are the cool swag bag they are going to receive (I know it's sad on my part...do I pay attention to the clothing, the movie stars, no...I'm thinking about the gadgets they are going to receive...oh well, life of a geek). I know even after the awards and after party some of them will still go home depressed, unhappy, unfulfilled...why?

I remember back in 2000 I was security lobby officer at a fortune 500 company how I would see so many of the workers come in and would be and look so unhappy. Their attitudes would be so nasty sometimes and I could not understand why? Everyone has bad days, we all have them. But some of them were just miserable every day. Their salaries were really nice, the building where I worked was pretty cool, most of the offices were loft and the set up was sweet but for the most part, they would walk past my desk, half speak(when they locked their keys in their vehicle or had a flat tire I was their best friend for a short time) but for the most part attitudes just nasty. Were the employees like these? Not at all.

I remember the CEO of Ralston Purina at the time, now this guy had to be the most humble man I saw. The only regret I have was not asking him why he was so humble and how could I achieve what he has done. I was not looking for handout but just some guidelines on how to obtain some financial secure, how to keep a level head when you have made to the top of your field. Each employee when passing my desk would have to show their employee badge and Mr. McGinnis had no problem do that. Even if his hands were full, he would stop, set his items down and pull out his employee badge, show that million-dollar smile and go on his merry way. Was he a Christian I do not know but I do know he was very kind, always spoke, and always had a kind word to say to you, always humble. I can read people pretty good and this was genuine. Some people you know when they are shooting you bull but not Mr. McGinnis. I'm not saying he was a saint but just a very kind man.

I remember when I first gave my life to the Lord and Mr. Cleo Horton told me a book to read in the Bible, Ecclesiastes. When I first began reading it I thought, "man King Solomon is one depressed dude...sheesh!" Then from out of now where the Holy Spirit opened up my mind and understanding and told me, "This is what it's like when you can have everything you ever want and if you do not have Me (God) at the center of your life, it's all emptiness". Wow...that did for me. This is what King Solomon saying, “Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!”(Ecclesiastes 1:2).

Now I am not saying that we all have to be paupers in order to be happy, if that's the case Solomon would not have been the wisest, richest man in the world. What I am saying is that everything has it's place. They is nothing wrong with having money, being rich, being famous, being successful. God wants you and to enjoy life to the fullest but to put everything in it's place. He have given you and I principles, guidelines to live by and in the end they are for our best at heart. One pastor has said the book of Proverbs is the "Book of Wisdom" where as Ecclesiastes is the "Book of living foolishly" I am getting a second chance at life. I will begin school soon, I am going after what God has placed in me to do with my life. It's going to be challenging, it's going to hit some speed bumps from time to time but deep down it's going to be fun.

What I take from the rich and famous is this: love Jesus Christ first, family second, career third. Take care of you business always, keep your affairs(will, paying bills, savings, investment) in order, love life, treat people the way you wish to be treated, always keep learning, if you don't want people to know your business...don't put it out there, seek God in everything you do, keep your eyes on Him always as King Solomon said if you do that...

"Never let loyalty and kindness leave you!
Tie them around your neck as a reminder.
Write them deep within your heart.
Then you will find favor with both God and people,
and you will earn a good reputation."

And Here I Thought It Was A Slow Tech Week...

Security expert: User
education is pointless>>>more
from CNet News.com

Tuesday I wrote a "help" guide on how to protect yourself when surfing the web. But from the sounds of this article most users are "idiots" in so many words. From what he's saying we should just throw our hands up and let your systems get infected, throw most computer users to the wolves.

I have to admit sometimes it can be a challenge but what he fails to realize is that all of us have been naive from one time or another. I look at this matter in some ways like telling people about Christ Jesus...either you will listen or you won't. But I have learned over time is that all of us have free will.

You can't make people do something if they do not wish to do it...plain and simple. Example, I ask my wife to use Mozilla Firefox to search the web, most of the time she doesn't; does that make her a moron, no....hard headed, yes (but she's still my SugarBaby) Does she pay for in the end..yes. She is a grown woman and computer user will or will not heed computer experts warning. And to be fair most computer users shouldn't have to IT Specialist to surf the web but the times we live in we have to be cautious.

But let me give Mr. Gorling and the other tech experts a little advise...don't belittle people. This is why nerds and geeks have such a bad rep for thinking we're superior and everyone else is inferior (remember Nick the Computer Guy from Saturday Night Live?). I like how Leo Laporte addresses the matter, "we all were novice at one time or another...", I know I don't have all the answers and I learn something new everyday...like not be like this guy...but the point is Mr. Gorling, lighten up. It's not your system that's effected and if everyone was experts, what would you be doing? It's tiresome sometimes, frustrating at times but the bottom line, people will learn to surf the web smarter or they won't.

Leo..The Tech Guru (Sorry Luis..you're still my hero LOL)

Podcasting's Reluctant
Evangelist>>>more
from Wired.com

Leo Laporte....this man can do no wrong. I have called in twice to the show, KFI Tech Guy and let me tell you, this guy is so nice, so humble. He does not mind helping you out at anytime, if he has the answer, he gives it to you; if he doesn't have the answer, he will let you know and will throw the question out to the listeners for the answer. For a gentleman who is known really around the tech world this guy is so down to earth it makes you wander, "why can't all geeks be this way?" Leo has made learning computing, learning about tech gadgets, fun, entertaining, educational all at the same time.

I remember first hearing and seeing him on TechTV along with Patrick Norton, Kevin Rose, Roger Chang, Chris Pirillo and the whole gang. To me this was "smart television". But smart does not roll over to good ratings. After 5 years Paul Allen sold it and the channel became G4 TV and down it went. I had a gut feeling Leo would be gone soon because to me G4 is very low brow. Fast foward to now....

Leo has a much larger following now and it makes me smile because with him and the ex-TechTV group doing their own podcast, video show over the internet it gives me hope that nice guys (especially geeks) sometime finish first. This is why I do what I do and hope one day I can help as many or more people like this true gentleman is doing.

Thank you for taking time out and sharing your knowledge Leo. And by the way, congrads on your award.

Apple Is Getting Me Angry

Pod People Ponder Litigation>>>more
from Wired.com/news

Leo Laporte once said that he's happy that Apple does not have the market shares as Microsoft because if they did, Steve Jobs would be twice as ruthless...I tend to agree;

this letter sent out by Apple this Wednesday to some companies not to use the word 'Pod' or 'Podcast' just proves sometimes how small and petty Jobs can be at times. I like Apple products, I still have my blue and white G3 tower, I have a couple of iPods, I like there hardware, how I have told many of people that Apple for me has made learning 'computing' fun again. But there are somethings I do not like.

I recently had a hard drive die on me, the Maxtor OneTouchII was not a year old when it went and died on me. I had many mp3s...no AAC downloads (this is Apple format for their downloads) and me being foolish did not back them all up.

Now I share part of the blame for my laziness but what gets under my skin is that Apple has a database showing that I purchased these songs yet if I lose them...too bad, and when I go and purchase the songs again (and I feel I shouldn't) a warning box will pop up stating, "Are you sure you wish to purchase this song, you have already downloaded before" or something to that effect. So you know my next question; if you have my information why should I have to buy them from you again?

This past Sunday Leo and the gang on TWiT mentioned that on Will Wheaton's blog that he lost his songs and contacted Apple and they let him retrieve them again. I will try and find out how Wil went about that miracle and when I find out, I will pass it on to you because it's a shame that first Apple put their stupid DRM codec on their downloads and second if you lose your downloads, you have to pay again for the songs "YOU" purchased.

I wrote about this I think earlier this month or last month about eMusic. I really hope they pass iTunes because it's cool how they have their system set up. I am going back to buying CDs because I will always have the hard copy.

Sorry about that...I was really suppose to comment on this stupid letter from Apple about trying to stop other companies from using the word 'Pod' or 'Podcast' and I go on about not being able to retrieve lost downloaded songs from Apple.

Just makes me mad.

This seems like a good idea. So many people, cusomers believe that the large companies are not listening. Well Jonathan Schwartz from Sun is trying to break that mold. Devotion & Wisdom for Monday...Sept 25th 2006----->HAPPY MONDAY :-)

God's Sovereignty and
the Existence of Evil>>>more

from InTouch Ministries

This devotion is very insightful. A couple of entries back I talked about how some people always asked the question, "why do God let bad things happen?" and I mentioned that we have a adversary...Satan.

This devotion from Dr. Charles Stanley breaks it down even further to explain how evil came about, how our Lord and Savior gave us free will to either do right or do wrong, how by Adam and Eve's disobedience how we are born into sin.

As a Christian I know I am not perfect, I know I fall short from time to time, thank God he sent His Son to bridge that gap and fill that void so we can have the oneness with God again.

Jesus— God’s Perfect Gift>>>more
from InTouch Ministries

When I think about how much Jesus Christ gave up to save someone like 'me' (i have to make this personal) I tear up each and every time. So much crap I got into as a young adult and an a adult...Christ was so patient, so loving waiting on me to come 'home'.

He knew how long it would take me to come to my senses and he knew the life I was living was empty for me but it was up to me to come to my right mind to realize that God was not 'keeping' anything from me...He was saving the 'best' for me.

I'm Back :)

man I haven't blogged in so long, it feels funny. I haven't blogged to my theologyntech, my music for the heart and here...but this is going to change...NOW. i've been tweaking and tinkering with my machines and now I am finished(for a while at least).

with my Music For The Heart Blog, I have a couple of ideas to make that one stand out more, with my TheologynTechnology Blog, I have ideas for that one as well.

How has everyone been these past months....cool I hope. As you know, Amber has left Call For Help but she will still do here video show and podcast, that's good to know....

I have begun tinkering with Linux Ubuntu and it's AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!! I loaded Ubuntu on an older laptop to learn more about it, so much technology out there...so much fun.

man Linux and Apple make learning computers...hard and software fun again.

i think i may try and start a podcast with my music blog thanks to Odeo free software out there.

Lionel Richie has a new CD out and that cut, "I Call It Love" is so nice, so cool. I may go out and by that CD.

well..that's it for now; i will be back later.

Devotion For September 17th, 2006

Victory Lane: David's Sling>>>more
from Turning Point

I have learned over the years is that most times you do not win people to Christ Jesus most times by knowing the Bible from Genesis to Malicah...from Matthew to Revelation....not beating them over the head and telling them that "they're all going to hell in a hand basket"(still trying to figure out that saying) but many times just being yourself and telling people what God has done in "your" life.

Sometime we win people to Jesus Christ just by showing how "human" and not being a "mr. know-it-all", letting people know that we are a work in progress as well. Our job is share the gospel, our heavenly Father will do the rest.

God Is Always Bigger>>>more
from Turning Point

We all need to be reminded of that from time to time don't we, God is ALWAYS bigger than our problems. All of us lose focus sometime and view our situation larger than our Saviour. What I have realized is that the more I get into God's word, be obedient to His word, the smaller my problems become. The less I read His word and disobedient to His ways my situations don't turn out so good.

I am not saying that we will not have your trials or walk through 'valleys' but knowing day by day that God not only has our back for today, but tomorrow as well. Have a great day today.
