a powerful message from Pastor Greg Laurie

You have heard me menitioned Pastor Greg Laurie from time to time because what I truly enjoy about his messages is how he explains the bible and his humor. This message I heard on my iPod is no exception...A God of Second Chances (part II) is about how our Lord and Savior can forgives us no matter what mess we get into and how He loves you and I no matter what decsions we make.

Now, this is not to say we will do not have pay the consenquences for our actions but to know that God still loves you and I regardless is truly a blessing.

I hope you get a chance to listen to this today and share it with a family member, a non-believer, your children.

Be Blessed, Be Safe and Have a Wonderful Thursday.

He has a very cool website as well.

devotion & reflections for Tuesday

A Word From The Wise>>>more
devotional from odb>>>rbc ministries

We live in age of loose tongues now. We live in a age of people saying what they want when they want. This small little muscle in our mouth has cause people either pain or pleasure and it's to a point now that people do not care what is said because they feel, "I can say what I want to say". This is very true, you can say what you want, you have that right...my problem is many people now days feel that way but do not want to face the consequences that come behind their speech.

I work in customer service and by me hearing customers again and again call me every name in the book has actually humbled me, make me really think before I speak (I have always done this because 1. I stuttered so bad and 2. I know once words have left your mouth, you can not take them back.) I have learned that a certain tone in my voice no matter what can escalate or calm down a person. I am also learning at my age (finally) that when you constantly "go off" on people it shows "your" character...not theirs.

It is really true in this day and age how I hear so many young people can curse in front of older people and not blink an eye without thinking, without caring. At first I used to get upset with the young but God has matured me just this year that most of them hear their parents swear like a sailor so they feel it's normal. You here it and see it all in our television shows, in our music because it sells. All of us have done it from time to time...I was just never good at it, not that "I'm holier than thou", I'm just no good at it that's all and I am so happy.

It's really something how this little muscle inside our mouth can cause so much happiness for some and misery for others. Jesus Christ was telling the truth when he told his disciples, "...it's not what goes inside a man but what comes out of a man that tells his true character." I try to be as courteous as I can and I am not going to lie, it can be difficult at times. Some people make it hard, some people we just do not care like for good reasons, some we don't have a reason. But I am taking to heart more and more what my mother taught me..."If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." It saves me unnecessary grief down the road. I am truly learning the meaning of hurling "blessings" at people more so than "curse" words because in the end, people are going to be people and I can't control their speech but I can surely control mine.

Makes me feel better about myself in the end.

Be Blessed, Be Safe, & Have a Wonderful Day.

Devotion & Reflection for Sunday

Religion Or Christ?>>>more
from rbc ministries|odb devotions

A while back I heard Dr. Charles Stanley say it's better to tell people that "I'm a Follower of Jesus Christ" more so than telling people "I am a Christian". I think that's really good because many people claim to be Christians and think just because of their works that will give them a VIP into kingdom of God...that is not the case.

Our Father knows how our ego would swell so big if we were saved just on our works alone. We would not treat people with respect because if God received you and I just for our works, we would treat one another like dirt because all we would have to do is "play" catch up with our works for the Lord and we would skate into Heaven with no worries.

And then the other end of the spectrum, some people would feel like they could never do enough to find favor with God because of guilt, not enough skills. We would look around and feel inadequate because some people may have "the proper tools" so to speak and we would feel less worthy.

Thank God He knows you and I better than we know ourselves. By our Lord giving you and the "gift" of salvation we can not buy our way into the kingdom. Knowing that as long as we are sincere in our repentance to our Father we know we are forgiving and not to worry about "working" our way out of hell. He knows we are born into sin but thank God he has giving you and I the way to be his children and not his enemy.

Be Blessed, Be Safe and Have a Great Sunday

Getting Back On Track

I haven't posted here in a very long time and shame on me. I have another blog I have been spending time on and I have neglected this one for oh so long. I enjoy my Vox blog and the community has been really cool but I kinda got sucked into the community and I need to focus on this blog and my tech blog.

A lot has changed in just a short time. I have started a blog devoted just to music, I have began a tech blog, I'm working a second job...about to give it up because school is about to start for me. One thing Leo Laporte said about blogging here(like Blogger, Wordpress, TypePad) when you blog here, you are basically alone but with Vox you are with people. That is a very good thing but sometimes you get hooked on waiting on the next comment.

I began this blog to share my love for God, my love for tech gear. I'm not a tech expert but what I do know I will share with the world and the cool thing about that is it makes me learn when I do not have the answer.

Next week I will begin blogging again here and I will cross link from time to time.

I hope you will be patient with me readers until I get back on track. Be Blessed, Be Safe and Have a Wonder Weekend.

Devotion & Reflections for Thursday

Reborn Identity>>>more
devotion from rbc ministries

When first reading this devotion to be honest I had a hard time really getting into it, really understanding it because some devotions and bible reading fall on you like a ton of bricks, it speaks right to your heart, and then there are some passages you read and you go, "huh?" But God is so awesome as always. Then it hit me...we don't always read God's Word for just a "good feeling" all over, we read, study, meditate on God's word for peace and even as I write this I'm getting a deeper revelation.

To know Jesus Christ and to know what He came on earth for is to give of peace within. His sacrifice for us is for us not to wonder, "who am I?" and "why am I here?" I enjoy science, I always have coming up. I have so many interest coming up some I have forgotten about and something will trigger it and make me remember like space. As a kid, I wanted to become an astronaut (as must little boys growing up). Time travel I was fascinated by as a kid(H.G. Wells The Time Machine with Rod Taylor is still one of my favorite movies). I remember how me and my friend Walter use to pretend to have built a time machine or built a mini submarine like Captain Nemo to see different lands.

Maybe the reason why I also thought of those things was many times I felt alone, didn't know where I was going to end up when I die, what was my purpose for being on this earth(sad huh...this young in age and already thinking of these things...I was a deep thinker as a child) and even though I was saved as a child I did wonder about heaven...I read some of the Bible about how the streets would be paved with Gold and walls of pearls. But mainly I thought about why am I here on earth.

Fast forward to today, I getting to know Christ Jesus more and more and to know His love for me I'm learning more and more each day why I am here. Sure he has placed in me some desires but I am learning His desires for my life and I'm finding when I do this...turn everything over to Him how many doors are opening for me. Some roads are a little bumpy for the most part He is making a way for me. I know now that when I do reach my vocation desire I will not feel empty and feel like I have wasted my time because studying His word, listening to Christ Jesus, he has filled that void in my life where now once I begin college again and fulfill my dream I will not say to myself, "Is this all there is to life?"

It's funny now, I don't think about what goes on in space anymore, not saying I'm still not in awe of looking up at the heavens on a clear night seeing the beautiful stars in the sky, I just think about if there is other intelligence out there on other planets(although I still enjoy astronomy) anymore because knowing Christ now I know what matters must...trusting in Him and knowing when I die where I'm going to end up is good enough for me....

**although, I'm really curious about the garden of Eden, Noah's Ark, and King Solomon's Kingdom...like I said, I've always been a deep thinker.

Be Blessed,
Be Safe, &
Have a Wonderful Thursday.
