God Is in Control
of Our Salvation>>>more
from In Touch MinistriesOne of the reasons why I really respect our pastor is that his teaching of the Word of God simple and straight to the point. He let us know that our Heavenly Father find no pleasure with any of us going to Hell, but as there were rules and principles in our home growing up there are principles and rules with our Lord and Savior.
God gave us all free will, so that means we can chose to obey or disobey Him. Now I am not going to sit and right this saying that I ALWAYS obey Him....I don't. Whether it's small as not getting up at a certain time in the morning when the alarm goes off to major as tithes and offerings, the one thing I love about the Lord is that He gives me principles to apply and if the are followed I see the results. If I don't apply them, the results. He has mercy on us but sometimes we have to pay the consequences for our disobedience.
Every time I read the book of Genesis I love God more and more. From Adam and Eve to Joseph, God's explained to Adam and Eve what they could and could not do...the good and the bad. Think about it, He tells them both they could have 'every tree in the garden' except for one. Many people don't think about that section alone...to have EVERYTHING except for one thing...and we still want that one thing, something is wrong with that picture. When they ate of fruit that God told them not to eat, the Oneness that they had with Him was cut off because of their disobedience. And I love how they came up with excuse after excuse but in the end, God stuck to His word because, 'His word does not come back to Him void'.
To me God's principles and truths are not a burden to me...it's a freedom. He is not trying to keep me from life, His Word and teachings are having me enjoy life to the fullest.
Let God in your heart and soul today.
Have a Blessed, Safe, and Fun weekend everyone.

Pod People Ponder Litigation>>>more
from Wired.com/news
Leo Laporte once said that he's happy that Apple does not have the market shares as Microsoft because if they did, Steve Jobs would be twice as ruthless...I tend to agree;
this letter sent out by Apple this Wednesday to some companies not to use the word 'Pod' or 'Podcast' just proves sometimes how small and petty Jobs can be at times. I like Apple products, I still have my blue and white G3 tower, I have a couple of iPods, I like there hardware, how I have told many of people that Apple for me has made learning 'computing' fun again. But there are somethings I do not like.
I recently had a hard drive die on me, the Maxtor OneTouchII was not a year old when it went and died on me. I had many mp3s...no AAC downloads (this is Apple format for their downloads) and me being foolish did not back them all up.
Now I share part of the blame for my laziness but what gets under my skin is that Apple has a database showing that I purchased these songs yet if I lose them...too bad, and when I go and purchase the songs again (and I feel I shouldn't) a warning box will pop up stating, "Are you sure you wish to purchase this song, you have already downloaded before" or something to that effect. So you know my next question; if you have my information why should I have to buy them from you again?
This past Sunday Leo and the gang on TWiT mentioned that on Will Wheaton's blog that he lost his songs and contacted Apple and they let him retrieve them again. I will try and find out how Wil went about that miracle and when I find out, I will pass it on to you because it's a shame that first Apple put their stupid DRM codec on their downloads and second if you lose your downloads, you have to pay again for the songs "YOU" purchased.
I wrote about this I think earlier this month or last month about eMusic. I really hope they pass iTunes because it's cool how they have their system set up. I am going back to buying CDs because I will always have the hard copy.
Sorry about that...I was really suppose to comment on this stupid letter from Apple about trying to stop other companies from using the word 'Pod' or 'Podcast' and I go on about not being able to retrieve lost downloaded songs from Apple.
Just makes me mad.

Today's Devotional>>>more
from Insight for Living
Sometimes things that come in small packages have really BIG impact on us. This devotion from Chuck Swindoll rings so true about taking a break every now and then. But let me add a little something to this as well, We also need to schedule our time wisely as well. Since I have begun my blogs, I have realized that some things I have had to cut back on like...watching television (and that is really big for me).
Since I have cut down on watching television, I have developed better sleeping habits, more rested, more relaxed, less rushed in the morning. Yes God has given us his principle for working and believe me it's does work.
Read a chapter from the book of Proverbs each day, that has very good work ethics as well. Have a Blessed, Safe, and Relaxing weekend everyone.

Intel offers prize for sexiest PC>>>more
from BBC News|tech
This contest is pretty cool because as of now, you and I both know the only sexy computers that are out is...you know...Apple. AlienWare has nice systems and Dell is coming around but for the most part PC has always been known for being just 'work horses' and Apple considered a thing of beauty. But that is not really true as I write this... I have been seeing some really nice computer cases if you wish to build your own computer. My wife and I went into one shop, CompTech and some of the cases to house your computer inards are pretty sexy within themselves. PCs for the most part has always been mass products because when it comes buying for businesses, they are not thinking of styles, just workability.
But times are changing with Apple now running Tiger OS & Windows XP (and soon Vista) PC companies should be worried about their bottom line when it comes to sells.other tech articles: growing world of Google Earth, Zune Pricing, Lenovo to Recall Batteries

Forgotten Souls>>>morefrom Harvest OnlineThis devotion is about us slowing down and taking care of the most important thing in our lives....our soul. We get so busy taking care of others (family, friends), making sure others have plenty, making sure our bodies are in tip top shape, our finances are in order and not taking care of where we will spend our eternal lives.Do not get me wrong, those things I mentioned above are very important but sometimes we forget about us...internal. I have this problem and starting today I will begin to read my Bible more, pray more, witness more. I enjoy bringing you important biblical information, tech information and I hope down the road I can do this full time because getting up at 5am to do this brings me so much joy. But I have begin to spend more time with my heavenly Father who grants me to open my eyes each and every morning to bring you this as well. HP snooping points out
fastest growing scam>>>more
from MSNBC
I have heard over the past two weeks how they are trying to (and I do use the word 'trying' very lightly) compare the HP scandal to the Watergate Scandal. Now I was about 8 or 9 years old when that took place (Watergate). Is this event just as traumatic? Well yes and no.
Yes in a since that business executives do not learn from history. Will Harris from TWiT this Sunday said something very profound...it wasn't the act the did but the cover up HP tried to do. No one wants to own up to their mistakes anymore. I have to agree with Will, if the PR (Public Relations Department) would have just came out and said, "we screwed up, we made the mistake and we truly apologize" HP would have been news for 1 or 3 days tops because we know how short sited we are (may not be nice but it's the truth....we here in the US have very short attention spans) and it would have been over. But by them denying it then coming out and little by little with the truth only makes it worse. It's like my mother taught me, 'when you lie, you have to remember the past lie you told in order to keep the charade going'. I really hope not only the law but we as citizens REALLY begin to hold these companies accountable for their action. Praying to Our Sovereign God>>>
morefrom
In Touch MinistriesI have found this devotion reading to be so true. When I realized that having an open communication with my heavenly Father that so much stress goes away. I realize now my praying to God is not to bend His will toward what I want but to listen and be obedient to His will...and His way is always the best way.
This brings me to another point, sometime we pray and pray and not listen. I have found out with my walk with the Lord that just as in a conversation with my wife, or friend or co-worker, I have to listen as well. Whenever I pray now, I be still for a while so I can hear what He wants me to do. Sometime the answer is right away, sometimes it's while I doing something else and He opens my heart, my mind to let me know the best way to handle situations.
In one part of the devotion the question was asked, "if God knows all, why do we have to pray?" Like I mentioned earlier...it's communication with God. We would ask our parents if we wanted or needed something and many times our parents would know even before we would ask them...we were depended on them in many ways and we were communicating with them. God wants us to have a relationship with Him, To be one with Him. I know now that having the Lord in my life has made my life so much richer.
"Lord, I pray my children's souls would pant for as the deer pants for streams of water.

The Holiness Habit>>>morefrom Turning Point
This devotion by Dr. David Jeremiah really speaks to me today. This morning I was not only going to short change my readers but short change myself. This morning I was running behind I was going to take a 'short cut' and do my blog. Some people may have noticed it, others may not have but one person who have known this cheap way of doing the devotion for today...myself.
What I do is link to the devotions and say something as well. By me being lazy and slacking off I was going to merely 'cut and paste', I couldn't do it. I don't know who reads this...maybe I have many people reading this blog, maybe not but I can't short change the people who do read this blog and I can't short change myself.
I really believe in what I am doing here and I know if I keep plugging at this the readers will come and what I would really like to happen is that I can do this full time because I enjoy finding great Christian and tech articles and placing them under one roof. I have a long way to go but I heard Joyce Meyers say something this past Sunday..."Do what we can and God will do what we can't". That really gave me a push to keep doing this; I have other ideas in the works and I if I keep doing the right thing and taking bold steps, the sky is the limit for me.
God, strengthen my children with all power, so that they may have great endurance and patience.

God's Sovereignty and
the Existence of Evil>>>more
from InTouch MinistriesThis devotion is very insightful. A couple of entries back I talked about how some people always asked the question, "why do God let bad things happen?" and I mentioned that we have a adversary...Satan.
This devotion from Dr. Charles Stanley breaks it down even further to explain how evil came about, how our Lord and Savior gave us free will to either do right or do wrong, how by Adam and Eve's disobedience how we are born into sin.
As a Christian I know I am not perfect, I know I fall short from time to time, thank God he sent His Son to bridge that gap and fill that void so we can have the oneness with God again.

She exposed me to so much good and I thank God for that each and everyday. When I think about how much Jesus Christ gave up to save someone like 'me' (i have to make this personal) I tear up each and every time. So much crap I got into as a young adult and an a adult...Christ was so patient, so loving waiting on me to come 'home'.
He knew how long it would take me to come to my senses and he knew the life I was living was empty for me but it was up to me to come to my right mind to realize that God was not 'keeping' anything from me...He was saving the 'best' for me.

Victory Lane: David's Sling>>>morefrom Turning Point I have learned over the years is that most times you do not win people to Christ Jesus most times by knowing the Bible from Genesis to Malicah...from Matthew to Revelation....not beating them over the head and telling them that "they're all going to hell in a hand basket"(still trying to figure out that saying) but many times just being yourself and telling people what God has done in "your" life.
Sometime we win people to Jesus Christ just by showing how "human" and not being a "mr. know-it-all", letting people know that we are a work in progress as well. Our job is share the gospel, our heavenly Father will do the rest.

Jesus Christ: The Son of God>>>morefrom In Touch Ministries
I can understand sometime when people say, "there is no God", or "you people(Christians) just believe in a make believe superior image". I know people get discouraged and I know how some people have had traumatic situations happen in their life to believe there is no God. People witness horrific things and wonder, "where is this God of yours?" and the famous line, "why do God let bad things happen to good people?"
Sometime I have the answers sometimes I don't...one thing I do know, God has given all of us free will to believe and trust in Him or not believe and trust in Him. Some situations we bring upon ourselves, other situations God is 'pruning' us for something better and sometime believe it or not their is another adversary....Satan. It boggles me when I hear people say, "where was God when this situation or that accident happen?" It's like people forget all about Satan who is the 'prince of the air', of this earth and that is because the First Adam gave dominion over to Satan. Thank God for the Second Adam...Jesus Christ.
He did not have to go through what he went through for us but Christ did. At any time he could have called on a legion of angels to come and deliver him but he did not because he knew that once Adam and Eve sinned the only way we could be redeemed was through his suffering for us.
Have a Blessed, Fun, and Safe weekend everyone. :-)

God Is Always Bigger>>>more
from Turning PointWe all need to be reminded of that from time to time don't we, God is ALWAYS bigger than our problems. All of us lose focus sometime and view our situation larger than our Saviour. What I have realized is that the more I get into God's word, be obedient to His word, the smaller my problems become. The less I read His word and disobedient to His ways my situations don't turn out so good.
I am not saying that we will not have your trials or walk through 'valleys' but knowing day by day that God not only has our back for today, but tomorrow as well. Have a great day today.

The Promise Of Heaven>>>more
from InTouch Ministries
It's so awesome that Christ Jesus shed His blood for us not to only have a wonderful place when we get to heaven but that we truly enjoy ourselves here on earth as well. I here non-believers say over and over again that the Christian life is 'so boring' but I beg to differ. Now that I have Christ in my life, not only can I strive for heaven but strive for goals here on earth as well.
To many of us Christians sometime to put ourselves on 'auto pilot' once we announce God as our Lord and Savior. We think we should just let people walk all over us, not strive for goals for our family and ourselves, not take care of our body...just let ourselves go.
This is not what Jesus died for, he gave up SO much for you and I; and just to let it all go to wayside is not only wasteful but hurtful to God. He has put different gifts in each and everyone of us to bring Him glory. Material things are not everything, money is not everything but we as Christians have to show the world that becoming saved does not only mean being humble, we have to show them we are just as bold, courageous, looking good, having the best without going into debt, being the 'head and not the tail'.
Makes you wonder why people strive to be in the world instead of striving to be a Christian. Think about it.
Create in my children pure hearts. O god, and let that purity of heart be shown in their lives.

Vista Compatibility: What
Does Microsoft Owe Us?>>>more
from eWeek.com
This article ask a very good question: will the new Vista be backward compatible friendly? Microsoft better hit this one out of the ball park because dealing with the flaws with XP was bad enough (it's been 5 years since this upgrade for Microsoft, my time passes when you're having fun).
I'm just waiting on the specs when it comes to running the behemoth of a OS. I will not upgrade to Vista until 2008 because number one, I want all the major bugs to be worked out of Vista and number two, I will buy a machine that has Vista already installed because upgrading is a pain at times and sometimes it's best to buy a computer with the OS pre-installed on the machine.
When I upgraded from OS 9 to OS X it really wasn't a problem for me because I really had not messed around with OS 9 that long but with Microsoft it may be a different story because I have dealt with Windows 98, 2000, and XP. One thing a friend told me; don't upgrade unless certain applications don't run with the OS and I am taking that advise to heart.

The Purpose Of Life>>>more

Now this question I have ask myself so many years it's only when I became saved that I realized what question means(well...kinda sort of). One thing I know since I have given my life to God that empty void has been filled. The Lord has given us free will but He leaves that one 'little' empty filling in all of us because He knows not alcohol, not drugs, not money, not being surrounded by many people can fill that void in our lives.
Sometime people realize this very early in life, some people it takes many years but when we do turn our life over to Him, He welcome us with open arms.

Money Matters>>>more
from Turning Point
Sometimes we as Christians want God's blessings but do not want to live by God's principles. This is why I believe most times churches struggle because with our mouth we say God will provide but with our actions we give Him our leftovers, then when we are in a bind we call on our Father like He's a 'genie in a bottle'. He doesn't work that way.
I've heard our pastor say time and time again, if we're obedient to God we wouldn't have call on Him so much for miracles. This is so true. God does own it all and He does not want us to be the tail but the head but in order to be the 'head' we must first submit to the Father.
Father, help my children not be like many others, but to be alert and self-controlled in all they do.

North Carolina is ranked Number 1 in regards to the best place to live for working in the tech industry which to me I like because I believe North Carolina is more of a family orient place to live and to raise a family.
Back in 2002 while living in Missouri my wife and I took a trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee to Lookout Mountain. We met a family that was moving from California to North Carolina. The gentlemen was saying the cost of living was lower, his father and mother moved to the Carolinas a couple of years earlier and was loving it there. We're back in Missouri and I have to tell you I never thought I would miss this place but I did. Homes here are affordable, we're central to everything, we have a great Public Radio station here and we have a wonderful Christian radio station here in Missouri. Living in Florida made me appreciate the many blessings Missouri has to offer. I told my wife we may have homes else where but Missouri will be our headquarters.
I thought I would like to live in California but living in Florida has changed my mind 180 degrees. We can visit but I do not wish to live there.

Gateway Rejects Bid For
Retail Unit>>>more
story found on ZDNetA couple of blogs back I linked a story on how Shun Hui made a bid to buy Gateway Computer company, well the board of directors voted down the offer. I will say it once and I will say it again, Gateway really needs to come up with a new design or I believe it will only get worse for the company.
I may not have a business degree but I am a tech consumer and believe me, people not only want realiability but eye candy as well. We consumers are longing for great customer service and from what I have seen in the past from Gateway, they rank at the bottom.
Gateway needs a overhaul in a MAJOR way all around.

Victory Lane: David's Songs>>>more
from Turning Point website
This is something that I have come to learn and love to do, worship the Lord through song and hymns. The songs of today are more comtemparary and that's good for me.
For a very long time I did not sing in church because of the church songs I heard as a child, they were so depressing and most of the congregation looked so sad, never really had anything positive thing to say or really show for it, not only in material things but some of the comments, "I'm just waiting until God take me away", or "we're going to receive our happiness once we get to heaven". I would hear them say would have me thinking, "if being a Christian is this depressing, why become a Christian at all?".
As I have heard some pastors say today, "God did not tell us to come up the 'rough side of the mountain' ".
Many years later hearing prays songs and hymns from our Praise and Worship team and church, listening to like artists like Praiz, B.O.S. Cho'Zyn, Kirk Franklin, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Jars Of Clay, The Newsboys has really change my way of worshiping the Lord.
Some of the older Christians may not like this new generation but we have to open our mind and heart to reach to the youth of today because it's so much negative media out here for them today but with the ministries of our church, pastor Greg Laurie, James McDonald and so many others are now coming to see that not only the old hymns are moving but the youth Christian music is a great blessing as well.
"Father, grant that my children would learn to live a life of love, through the Spirit who lives in them".

Devotion from Chuck Swindoll>>>more
reading from Insight For Living
One thing we as Christians have a hard time realizing is that once God has forgiving us, that's it...He doesn't throw it back in our faces, he doesn't hold our mistakes as a 'trump' card to pull out on us when He feels like it. Once we have truly repented, and asked our Lord and Savior to forgive us, He forgets about it, period.
Do yourself self a favor please...Forgive yourself because if our Creator has forgiving us and forgot about it, what gives us the right not to forgive ourselves. Good Night.
